"Le Taxi" is one of those lost cars that surface after many years of being quietly retired; 24 years to be exact. "Le Taxi" is actually a Triumph 2500 TC four door British saloon car (taxis normally come with 4 doors). The Triumph 2500 TC was originally built for Paul Newman in 1978 (his first race car) and was raced twice by Sean Smith in SCCA. But since Paul Newman had received a contract at the time, to race for Datsun, he decided to remove any immediate competition in B-Sedan Group and shipped his creation to "boarding school " in California, donating it to a community college …. and there it has been sitting, accumulating dust over the years.
